A3 [Atacama × Amazon × Alps]

An ongoing water research project

A3 [Atacama × Amazon × Alps] is dedicated to something fundamental: water. As part of "Coincidencia - Swiss & South American Cultural Exchanges" by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, Klang Moor Schopfe's collaboration with the Festival Novas Frequências in Rio de Janeiro, the Mapping Festival in Geneva and the Tsonami Festival in Valparaíso offers sound artists from Brazil, Chile and Switzerland the opportunity to approach the topic from a wide variety of perspectives in residencies in the Atacama Desert, the Amazon rainforest and the Alps. The joint work is constantly being developed and will be shown publicly for the first time at Klang Moor Schopfe. Benjamin Muzzin (CH) works primarily with digital moving images. The work of the Swiss artist, born in 1989, leaves the conventional framework of the flat screen behind and includes a wide variety of approaches such as kinetic installations, video mapping and VJing. Luisa Lemgruber (BR) is a geographer and sound artist. Based in Rio de Janeiro, she researches the intersection of social, environmental and spatial issues and presents her findings as installations, performances and sound walks. Daniel Reyes León (CL) works with different forms of expression and materials, from paper to ice. The Chilean artist's works take the fragility of an artifact as an opportunity to discuss social, economic and political failure. He is the founder of the digital magazine "Arte y Critica" and the publishing house "Adrede Editoria"
