Julian Sartorius
Switzerland

The Bernese drummer and percussionist Julian Sartorius (* 1981) is undoubtedly one of the most creative percussionists on the European music scene. He shapes sounds in a previously unheard and unseen way. His precise, multi-layered rhythmic patterns are both astute and sensual excursions into the hidden sound world of found objects and prepared instruments, building a bridge between organic timbres and the vocabulary of (experimental) electronic music. Julian Sartorius creates audiovisual artworks, regularly collaborates on international projects with musicians, writers and artists and performs live in intimate spaces and on festival stages. In 2017, he thrilled the KLANG MOOR SCHOPFE audience with two unforgettable concerts entitled "Sumpf Sumpf Sumpf - Beats aus dem Moor".
