Ursula Palla
Switzerland

Born in Chur, video and installation artist Ursula Palla (*1961) studied at the F+F School of Art and Design in Zurich, specializing in painting and drawing. She became involved with the medium of video very early on and was an assistant to Pipilotti Rist, among others. From 1994 to 2002 she was a member of the performance group Cooperation Projekt X, which shaped her approach to electronic media. Since the 1990s, Ursula Palla has regularly exhibited as a video artist in solo and group exhibitions. In her installations, she creates "moving spatial images of poetic density in which real and virtual space overlap". The central theme in her work is the artificiality of nature, a nature that is increasingly being appropriated and manipulated by humans. Ursula Palla lives and works in Zurich. For the installation for KLANG MOOR SCHOPFE, she is collaborating with the Winterthur sound artist Robert Kamber.
