Tokyo-based sound artist Kanako Saito (*1990), whose works are being shown in Europe for the first time, creates kinetic sound installations based on the interplay of light and movement. Her aim is to explore boundaries, laws and control mechanisms. In an improvised process, she creates her installations on site with the help of lights, motors, metals, wood, everyday objects and discarded materials, thus generating a poetic interaction with the space. Saito also performs as an improvisational and noise musician and hosts the internet radio show «RKwave» as K.
