Le Slie's
Sound artists Fabrizio Di Salvo (born 1981) and Roberto Maqueda (born 1991) present «Le Slie's», a kinetic sound installation centred around the percussion instrument of the same name developed by Di Salvo. The starting point for the creation is the specific use of the Doppler effect using Leslie loudspeakers. The mass-produced electromechanical loudspeaker system generates a characteristic vibrato and tremolo through the Doppler effect and periodic level fluctuations. For «Le Slie's2, it was further developed into an independent acoustic instrument.
