Glowth
Artist and violinist Mercedes Borguńska (*1987) and sound artist Giulia Hess (*1984) explore invisible phenomena in their collaborative works. They are interested in the collective process, in which they view thoughts, ideas and work steps as a kind of open source. For their multisensory installation «Glowth», the high moor as a place of hidden processes was the focus of their research. Fascinated by complex biological systems, they concentrated on bioluminescent fungi, lichens, algae and microorganisms. Their installation translates the micro-system of the moor into a macro-universe, a walk-in ecosystem that enables new visual, auditory and symbolic associations.
