The artist Tim Shaw (*1987) works with sound, light and communication media to create performances, installations and site-specific interventions. His work demonstrates an extremely diverse practice. He has invented artistic methods to listen into the sound world of insects, created augmented sound walks and performances for high-voltage devices, transmitted radio broadcasts through trees and extracted sound material from rocks. Interdisciplinary collaboration is central to his work: he regularly collaborates with experts from a wide range of fields, from musicology to medicine, geology and astrophysics. In 2023, Shaw took part in the Fellowship Program of the Collegium Helveticum, which promotes the exchange of science and art.
