Kim Gordon (*1953), bassist and singer of the influential band Sonic Youth (1981-2011), first appeared as a visual artist in 1981 with the exhibition «Design Office». In her works, she deals with art, culture and consumption in an ironically subtle way and debunks the promises of salvation of the American Dream. Her works include the ongoing series «Noise Painting», in which she uses the names of experimental and noise groups. In 2022, together with photographer Josephine Pryde, she presented a spectacular multimedia exhibition at the Bellpark Museum in Kriens. For KLANG MOOR SCHOPFE 2025, Kim Gordon is creating a sound installation that combines her practices as a visual artist and musician.
