di Salvo (CH) & Archinal (US): Doppler
Sound artist Fabrizio di Salvo, in his search for new forms of musical expression, has developed a new percussion instrument: the Doppler. The American percussionist Brian Archinal, who lives in Switzerland, will perform a composition written by di Salvo specifically for the Doppler.
The Doppler, created at the intersection of science and art, offers a new way to interpret the Doppler effect. This instrument uses two precisely milled aluminum plates arranged in a long, narrow tube, enabling a dynamic interaction between material, form, and sound. | Technical implementation: Thibault Brevet
