WOOOOOOD

Hamburg-based cultural scientist, performer and sound researcher Andi Otto (*1980) has researched the history of STEIM SensorLab and produces electronic music with the cello. At the center of his theoretical and practical artistic work is the question of the role that a musical body plays in an electronic setting. For KLANG MOOR SCHOPFE, Andi Otto has added local sounds to one of his interactive pendulum installations. "WOOOOOOOD" plays with the sound and texture of the wood from which the barn he is playing on is made. The central element is a room-filling pendulum that can be set in motion by visitors. The swinging balls create rhythmic patterns that make the old wood of the barn resonate sevenfold.
