Biennial festival for audiovisual art in the moor of Gais Switzerland

FINAL REPORT 2023 2023 was an exceptional year for the KLANG MOOR SCHOPFE festival in every respect. The specially created installations in the Schöpfen impressed with their high artistic quality and represented a multifaceted spectrum of contemporary audiovisual art. The collaboration with the Museum Gais, where one of the installations was shown, proved to be a stroke of luck, as the building on the main square functioned as an actual festival off-space in the middle of the village. The supporting program with around 90 events enabled different approaches and discussions with the artists and their works: With a range of low-threshold artist talks, sound walks, sound performances and specialist discussions, KLANG MOOR SCHOPFE was able to appeal to a wide variety of interested parties. The cooperation with six cultural institutions in Eastern Switzerland, each of which curated an evening, also proved to be enriching. They provided additional artistic input for the program, which appealed to new audience groups. The fantastic weather with summery temperatures, together with the successful program curation and the optimizations in festival operations, contributed to the fact that around 2500 visitors found their way to Gais. With this fourth edition, KLANG MOOR SCHOPFE has successfully established itself as a biennial festival for audiovisual art in the Swiss cultural scene. schlussbericht-2023.pdf Medienstimmen
